Ski touring “Etoiles dans les Ecrins” description

This program is set up by a French, local mountain guide, and as such naturally a bit of a poet when it comes to describing Guillaume´s own backyard. “Star surroundings” or possibly “gems” which names the National park “les Écrins” is where the week´s itinerary is taking you, around and into it. In a more profane way it means that you, after each and every day´s pursuit in the high alpine surroundings, come back to the comfort of the hotel. Which happens to be located right in the middle of all these “stars” in one of the best valleys for ski touring.

Technical Level: You master parallel turns more than well, just as you have no difficulties in non-groomed snow, i.e. powder and deep-snow with various quality, skiing down slopes that could be as steep as 35 degrees. There will be passages that require use of rope and harness.

Physical level

You enjoy the physical efforts of accomplishing just as much as the pleasure of being one with nature when skiing down silent valleys in untracked land. It is most important to have a good physical level in order to ski without getting tired and to enjoy your holiday safely. It is to prefer to previously have practiced ski touring just as any of the following activities practiced on a regular basis; cycling, running or similar. You ski with a rucksack.
